Drents-Friese Wold National Park
One of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands is located in Southwest Drenthe. With 6,000 hectares of forest, heathland, drifting sand and grassland, you can enjoy wonderful walking and cycling trips. Explore this beautiful area yourself or take part in one of the organised activities.
National Parc Dwingelderveld
This is a unique nature reserve, as it is the largest wet heathland area in Western Europe. Endless walking and cycling paths lead you past heathland, lakes, ponds, forests, drifting sand and centuries-old esdorp villages.
Doldersummerveld
Walk or cycle along one of the paths through wet heathland and former drifting sand areas. The difference in elevation makes for some wonderful trips here. Take a look at the observation tower and enjoy the beautiful view over Doldersummerveld.
National parc Drentsche Aa
The Drentsche Aa is a centuries-old nature reserve in the north of Drenthe. This area is home to the largest concentration of prehistoric monuments in the Netherlands. Cycling or walking through this beautiful park is like taking a journey through history.
De Hondsrug Unesco Global Geoparc
This unique nature reserve was formed during the Ice Age. As a result, there are still many traces of history to be found here. Walk or cycle through this beautiful piece of nature and encounter ancient dolmens, dry valleys, authentic villages and cart tracks.
